I must admit something.... I disagree with "draw what you love". Not to discourage anyone since it was a hard lesson for me to learn in my earlier years. I had to many art teachers in Jr. High, High School, and a college professor squash that for mantra for me with this:
Drawing what you love all the time doesn't improve your overall ability or added to your range in your work. You must branch out from what your love to learn what you don't know. This will allow you to come back to what you love drawing with a broader foundation of techniques to enhance it.
